Upon completion of construction, the Tai Po Lung Mei Beach has been opened for use by the public in June 2021, and the beach achieved "Good" ranking in the same year.  
 
Beach water quality will be affected by the surface run off or discharge from the hinterland during and after heavy rain and bathers are advised not to swim at the beach for up to three days after a storm or heavy rain.   The public are also advised not to swim at the beach until the water quality has improved.

Tai Po Lung Mei Beach is an artifical beach adjacent to Tai Mei Tuk which is a popular leisure area with the provision of a lot of outdoor activities, such as cycling, barbecue, windsurfing and other water sports.
