The annual ranking of the beach has been maintained as “Good” since 1999. During a bathing season, the beach usually achieves Grade 1, while occasionally it hovers to Grade 2 and 3.
Beach water quality will be affected by the surface run off or discharge from the hinterland during and after heavy rain and bathers are advised not to swim at the beach for up to three days after a storm or heavy rain. The public are also advised not to swim at the beach until the water quality has improved.

Highlight:
Deep Water Bay Beach is located to the south of Shouson Hill. Due to its popularity, Deep Water Bay is one of the six beaches in Hong Kong which remains open during the non-bathing season. Ocean Park is located to the west of the beach. On the east, the beach is linked to the adjacent Repulse Bay by the Seaview Promenade.
