In recent years, there is a trend of gradual improvement attributed to government’s effort to provide sewerage along the coastal strip between Tsing Lung Tau and Ting Kau areas in phases and to commission the Sham Tseng Sewage Treatment Works and the Advance Disinfection Facilities at Stonecutters Island Sewage Treatment Works.
The beach was re-opened since 2014 after completion of improvement works. However, owing to the limited swimming area and lifeguard service is not provided, the beach is not open for swimming and weekly grading is not available.
